Cate Blanchett's Upton certainty
Cate Blanchett "couldn't not" say yes when her husband Andrew Upton proposed to her.
The 39-year-old actress - who has three sons, seven-year-old Dashiell, four-year-old Roman and eight-month-old Ignatius with Andrew - knew she would end up marrying the playwright as soon as they met.
Speaking about Andrew's proposal, Cate said: "I couldn't not accept. We were in exactly the same place at exactly the same time. He turned to me after a few days and said, 'Cate … ,' and I thought, 'Oh, god, he's going to ask me to marry him - and I'm going to have to say yes!' He didn't, in fact - he asked me what I wanted for dinner or something like that. But I'd never had that thought before. I thought, 'This is extraordinary! I've never felt this before. What an adventure!' "
Cate - who can next be seen starring alongside Brad Pitt in reverse ageing movie 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button' - also revealed while she and Andrew are happy in their relationship, there is one thing that would spark problems between them.
She added to Vanity Fair magazine: "Andrew said he'd divorce me if I had any plastic surgeries.
"When you've had children, your body changes, there's history to it. I like the evolution of that history. I'm fortunate to be with somebody who likes the evolution of that history."

Singer blames her chaotic childhood
Christina Aguilera has admitted that’s she's a control freak.
‘I was raised in a very chaotic environment,’ she explains.
‘We were always moving from one place to another, my father being in the military, and you know, my mother leaving my father, going back and forth.
'Nothing was ever quite stable or secure for me. So that might definitely have something to do with liking things done in order, in control and my way.
'I’m a huge organisation freak. Everything is labelled and specified and there’s a place for it.’
Christina, 27, reckons music helped her to deal with her disjointed childhood.
‘As a very young girl there was a lot of domestic violence in the home,’ she tells The Observer Magazine.
‘So I think I just gravitated towards music as an escape.’
Christina is now happlly married to Jordan Bratman, 31, and is mum to 11-month-old son Max Liron.

Daniel Craig admits he has to work hard to keep toned.
The James Bond star, 40, had to beef-up for the role of 007 and now maintains his beefcake physique.
‘I go to the gym fives days a week for 40 minutes at a time,’ he tells Weekend magazine.
‘I hate it but I have to do it, because apart from anything, James Bond has to look physically imposing.'
Daniel is the 6th actor to play James Bond and has starred as the spy in two films – Casino Royale and Quantum Of Solace.
'I was big for Casino - that wasn't a mistake,' Daniel explains. 'It was a definite statement. This guy, when he takes his shirt off, should look like he could kill someone.'

Actor is struggling to learn French
Brad Pitt admits his mind isn't as agile as it once was. The actor, who is currently based in Berlin, is planning to move to France with partner Angelina Jolie and their six kids next year.
But he can't get to grips with the language. ‘Ange and I are trying to learn French,’ he says. ‘But she’s better at it than I am. Some of my brain cells seem to have shut down, so I’m struggling.
I can say “merci beaucoup” and that’s about it.’ Adopted son Maddox puts his dad to shame. ‘
Our seven-year-old rips it, man,’ Brad, 45, tells Hello!

Madonna's porn star lover
Madonna's new boyfriend is a secret porn star.
Brazilian model Jesus Luz, 20, guest starred in an erotic movie just weeks before meeting the 50-year-old singer - who is in the process of divorcing British director Guy Ritchie - at a magazine photo shoot.
His appearance in 'Hostel' - a late night Brazilian TV series in which a trio of actresses bring to life sexual fantasies sent in by viewers - saw him portray Diogo, a drunken man who passes out at a party he is attending with his girlfriend.
The topless hunk awakes to find her having sex with another man in front of him.
The show's director Cande Salles said: "He acted very well. He is excellent."
Meanwhile, Madonna has been pictured looking stressed and haggard as she stepped out for dinner with friends Gwyneth Paltrow and her husband Chris Martin shortly after attending a Kabbalah meeting with Guy and the children they raise together, Lourdes, 12, Rocco, eight and three-year-old David.
Madonna - who has been residing in New York since her split from Guy, 40 - reportedly spent Christmas in London with Lourdes, her daughter with former boyfriend Carlos Leon, while the boys spent the festive season at their father's home in Wiltshire.
Although Madonna invited Jesus to join her on the Sao Paolo leg of her 'Sticky and Sweet' world tour after the W magazine shoot, the '4 Minutes' singer is not believed to be pursuing a serious relationship with him.A source recently said: "Everyone knows they are ficando - which is a Portuguese expression that means they are kissing and doing other things but without any obligation of being faithful or getting into a relationship afterwards."

Scarlett Johansson has spoken out about her feud with Lindsay Lohan. The actress reckons it all started when Lindsay allegedly wrote a vile message about her on a bathroom wall 2 years ago.
‘I really don’t know her. I only met her 3 times,’ she tells Allure. ‘But apparently she did [write something]. I don’t know what the motivation was behind that.
'I remember it was something really vulgar — I mean, shockingly so, like: “Whoa, what, who are you?”’ Scarlett, 23, married actor Ryan Reynolds, 32, in September.

Kate Moss's ring trouble
Kate Moss lost the £3,000 ring her boyfriend bought her for Christmas.
The British supermodel was given the jewellery by Kills rocker Jamie Hince - who had the silver band, which has a blue stone and is supposed to have protective powers, made for her during his band's North American tour - but misplaced it just hours after receiving it.
Kate - who is believed to have spent Christmas Day (25.12.08) with Jamie, her six-year-old daughter Lila Grace and ex-boyfriend Jefferson Hack, Lila's father - has searched all over her Cotswolds home for the missing ring but could not find it before she flew out to Thailand with Jamie and Lila.
A source told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "There was a terrible panic when Kate realised the ring had disappeared. Jamie had it made for her in Santa Fe, it is a Native American design and is meant to symbolise Kate's future happiness and Jamie's role in it.
"When Kate realised it wasn't back in its box she started scouring through bins and discarded wrapping paper looking for it. Jamie almost lost his temper when he thought they were going to miss their flight. After he got her in the car, Kate couldn't stop apologising."
Kate, 34, is spending around a week at a five-star medical spa in Thailand, which boasts four staff to every guest and 120 different treatments in a bid to de-stress.

Dr. Youn's Top 9 Plastic Surgery Predictions for 2009
Here are #4-#1 of Dr. Youn's Top 9 Plastic Surgery Predictions for 2009.
#4: Nonsurgical Liposuction Techniques Run Rampant... As Do Disappointing Results. One of the hottest procedures today is nonsurgical liposuction. Cosmetic practices throughout the country are advertising fat reduction via injections (mesotherapy and Lipodissolve), external lasers, external ultrasound, and even by freezing the fat (called cryolipolysis). While these techniques sound intriguing, none have actually been proven to safely work...yet. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) is currently conducting an FDA-approved study on Lipodissolve, with the initial results due in the near future. While the only proven way to safely and effectively remove fat is via liposuction, 2009 may bring considerable advances to some of these, so far, unproven modalities.
#3: Eyelash Enhancing Medication "Latisse" Hits Big in a Blink. Recently an FDA advisory panel recommended approval for this eyelash stimulating medication from Allergan, the makers of Botox. Peak sales are estimated to reach $500 million, as this treatment will be the only one of its kind. I expect Allergan will see huge profits from this topical medication, as will the physicians that dispense it. And people will walk around with Tammy Faye Baker eyes...
#2: Stem Cells are the Future in the U.S., but the Present in Other Countries. Stem cells are currently all the rage in potentially curing cancers, developmental abnormalities, and other medical problems... but are they the future for plastic surgery as well? Actually, stem cells are currently being used by some pioneering (and some reckless) surgeons outside the U.S. Dr. Vincent Giampapa introduced a stem cell facelift in France back in October and a handful of surgeons are performing breast enhancement with stem cells in Japan and Europe. So will we see stem cells being used by plastic surgeons in the U.S. in 2009? Not likely. The FDA is cautious with allowing procedures like these to be performed here in the States, and with good reason. Scientists need to prove that the use of stem cells for indications like these is safe and effective before allowing patients to undergo it. Until then, Americans will need to travel abroad for these extremely controversial treatments.
And finally we reach...
#1: Botox-Competitor Reloxin will act as an Economic Bailout for Millions of Botox Users in 2009. FDA approval for Medicis's cosmetic botulinum toxin Reloxin is expected sometime in the new year. This may prove to be a relief to patients and plastic surgeons who have been forced to buy Botox at increasing prices each year. I currently charge my patients $650 for Botox injections to three areas, and the price of the Botox product itself accounts for at least half of that charge. Reloxin will be the first legitimate Botox competitor to challenge Allergan's monopoly on this market, and hopefully bring prices down for the most popular cosmetic treatment in the U.S. It can end up being an economic bailout for the millions of people who undergo cosmetic botulinum toxin treatments several times a year.
