The Girls Aloud singer duetted with the Black Eyed Peas star, 33, on his hit single Heartbreaker last year and is now hoping to recreate the success.

‘This is an amazing move for her,’ an insider tells the News Of The World. ‘Will.i.am is one of the biggest stars after his work for Barack Obama.’

Cheryl, 25, returned to the UK from LA, where she reportedly discussed the plans with Will, earlier this week.

As she prepares for a 'life-changing' event, Ashley panics over Cheryl's health

Ashley Cole is said to be very concerned about wife Cheryl Cole's health - and state of mind - during her 8-day ‘life-changing’ trek to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in aid of Comic Relief later this month.

‘One thing that really worries Ashley is Cheryl getting dizzy in the extremely high altitude or getting headaches because she’s prone to them,' says our source.

'As a sportsman, he also knows what your body goes through when you push yourself hard - how that can change you as a person. They’ve been through so much together that the last thing he wants is for this latest challenge to divide them as a couple.’

The Coles have stuck together after the allegations of 28-year-old Ashley's infidelity surfaced last year but it's been a tough time.

'He’s been worried that Cheryl might change her mind,' says the insider, 'especially if something comes along that gives her a new strength and vision.’

Even so, the footballer has been helping Girls Aloud star Cheryl, 25, prepare for her trip.

‘Ashley’s been doing lots of stretching with Cheryl and getting her the best vitamins and minerals, which supplement her new diet,' reveals the friend. 'He’s also helped source the equipment she uses, so she has the best sleeping bag, rucksack and boots available.'

X Factor judge Cheryl Cole’s been warned not to go back to her ‘gobby old ways’ after publicly laying into a string of celebrities.

There are fears in Cheryl’s camp that she could be alienating her army of new-found fans with a string of bitchy comments.

‘Cheryl needs to quickly rein herself in,’ says an insider.

‘In the early days of Girls Aloud she was written off as a gobby, bitchy and immature street brawler. But since becoming a judge on The X Factor it seemed she’d gained diplomacy skills.

‘She didn’t even rise to the bait when Charlotte Church called her a rubbish judge. So now that Cheryl seems on the verge of getting back to her old ways by slagging off everyone from Posh to Alexa Chung in interviews, everyone’s nervous.’

Cheryl, 25, slated former friend Victoria Beckham, 34, for not getting in touch with her when news of husband Ashley’s cheating broke last year, then said her fashion line was for ‘older women’.

‘I take my position as a role model very seriously now. I can’t behave the way I did,’ Cheryl said recently, but there’s a feeling that she’s grown weary of hiding her true nature.

‘The reality is that she’s been on her best behaviour for the past few months,’ says our insider. ‘She’s no saint. She swears like a trooper, is a chain smoker and will lay into anyone in an argument.

'She was clever enough to know that she had to present herself well, but now that she’s on the cover of Vogue and the offers are flooding in, there’s a belief that it’s starting to go to her head.'

Media guru Max Clifford tells NOW : ‘Cheryl’s had an amazing year and inevitably when someone’s achieved such success, things change. More people will be out to criticise her and she’ll be asked for her views on everything. She needs to be careful about anything she says about anyone.’

The Girls Aloud star, who grew up on a council estate in Newcastle, admits she’s always been an anxious person.

‘That’s one of my problems,’ she says. ‘I do worry about things. I’m probably going to end up dying with worry. I was clinically depressed once after a bad relationship. We have it in the family.’

But Cheryl, 25, who was convicted of assault after punching a toilet attendant in 2003, says she will react if she feels threatened by anyone.

'I never denied hitting her and I would have hit her again at the time,' she tells Vogue. ‘That’s what we were taught on the estate. You have to defend yourself.'

Cheryl's marriage to Chelsea footballer Ashley Cole, 28, has survived allegations of his infidelity and she's determined to stick by her man.

'I know what I'm doing,' she insists.

‘People have this misconception about all these celebrity parties, and it’s crap,’ she says. 'It’s really not [glamorous].

'All I want to do is go home. And it’s all such bulls**t, because you don’t really know the people there. It’s like waving across the room: “Hello. I’m famous, you’re famous. I don’t really know you but I’m saying hello to you anyway.”’

Cheryl, 25, often has nights in with her bandmates.

‘I much prefer to go to Kimberley Walsh’s and have her cook for me!’ she tells OK!

‘Just natural, normal parties where you can let your hair down and no one’s going to start taking your picture on their mobile phone or any of that sh*t.’

Cheryl Cole: Usually shops the day before Christmas

Cheryl Cole admits she is never organised in the lead up to Christmas.

The Girls Aloud star, 25, buys presents for husband Ashley Cole, 27, and her family the day before.

‘Christmas shopping is one of the most stressful times of the year,’ she says.

‘It’s normally done on Christmas Eve or the day before. I’m normally running round like a headless chicken.’

But bandmate Sarah Harding, 27, uses the festive season as an excuse to experiment in the kitchen.

‘My favourite thing about Christmas is being able to go home and sit and do nothing!’ she says.

‘And maybe get a bit Delia Smith, you know, make some mince pies and get all the Christmas food going.’
