Jessica Simpson reportedly enjoyed an intimate lunch with ex-boyfriend John Mayer.

The singer-and-actress, who is currently dating American football star Tony Romo, secretly met John for a meal in Calabasas, California, recently and onlookers claimed they couldn't contain their joy at seeing each other.

One source told gossip website X17Online: "They were keen not to be seen together but they looked so happy to be in each other's company. It looked to me like they were more than just good friends!"

Musician John - who has been single since breaking up with Jennifer Aniston earlier this year - split from Jessica in November 2007. Friends claim the blonde beauty was left devastated by the end of the relationship.

Last year, it was claimed Jessica went on a drinking binge to drown her sorrows after learning John was dating Jennifer.

However, the 28-year-old beauty has always insisted she is happier than ever with Tony as he "saved" her.

Jessica - who is divorced from Nick Lachey - said: "I would always fall for guys I wanted to save. For the first time, I fell in love with someone who saved me."

Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer have split up.

The 40-year-old actress was reportedly dumped by her musician boyfriend after she returned from her visit to the UK to promote new movie 'Marley and Me'.

A source said: "They had some disagreements and decided to not continue to see each other. Jennifer is moving on with her life like she always does. She seems happy."

While the beauty was doing her promotional European tour, the 31-year-old singer remained in the US to concentrate on his own career.

The split comes just weeks after John joined the 'He's Just Not That Into You' actress at the prestigious Oscars ceremony and follows reports he was planning to propose with a £2 million ring.

This is not the first time the John, 31, has separated from Jennifer, 40.

Last summer he cooled things off between them so he could work out his true feelings.

At the time he said: "I ended a relationship to be alone because I don't want to waste anybody's time if something's not right."

Jennifer, 40, recently admitted she didn't expect their romance to last forever.

The former 'Friends' star - whose ex-husband is Brad Pitt - said: "Who ever said that every relationship has to last forever? That's hoping for too much. I think every relationship is a world unto itself."

Justin Timberlake Mocks Mayer

Justin Timberlake says John Mayer is the love child of Macy Gray and a bear.

Justin was about to launch into an impression of the 'Gravity' singer when he likened John's vocal talents to a cross between Macy and a growling bear.

Appearing on the premiere of US talk show 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon', Justin - who is good friends with John - said: "I imitate stars because I love them. How would I describe John Mayer? He sounds like if Macy Gray and Smokey Robinson, or actually, Smokey the Bear had a love child."

He then launched into a rendition of John's hit 'Daughter' with a live band, while the audience whooped and cheered.

He explained: "He has the most amazing solo face. He contorts his face, it's like literally his tongue takes over."

The 'SexyBack' singer's impression of John left fellow guest Robert De Niro in hysterics.

This is not the first time Justin has impersonated another star.

Last year, he appeared on US talk show 'Saturday Night Live' where he performed a comedy version of Beyonce Knowles' hit 'Single Ladies'.

The 28-year-old singer donned a skin-tight leotard and high heels and performed an energetic dance routine in a spoof of the video to the song.

Jennifer Aniston's on-off boyfriend John Mayer has been seen canoodling with a beautiful blonde woman.

The 'Gravity' singer - who spent the night at the 'Friends' actress' Los Angeles home on Monday (26.01.09) - was reportedly seen snuggling up to the unidentified beauty at Santa Monica's Marix Tex Mex restaurant on Wednesday (28.01.09).

A source said: "John was talking to the girl, who was really cute - she was very animated and excited. As the dinner went on, John moved around the side of the table to be closer to her. Jennifer won't be happy."

It is not the first time John, 31, has been spotted with the woman, and the pair did little to hide their romantic feelings for each other.

Another source explained to In Touch Weekly magazine: "They were obviously on a date. He came in with her another time too. He gave her a long kiss before they left.

"John has been here six times in the last two weeks but never with Jennifer."

John and Jennifer began dating last April, but split in August, before rekindling their romance in October.

Since they reunited, there have been numerous reports they are set to wed, with John rumoured to be planning a romantic proposal on the star's 40th birthday on February 11.

Then, it's claimed the Marley & Me star will be leaving Tinsletown behind for a more intimate celebration with her man.

Jen recently told France's Closer magazine, "Everyone’s been asking me if I worry about being nearly 40, but no, not really.

"These days I’m a lot more serene and I’m ready to embrace a new decade."

The reports of Johnnifer's birthday rendezvous come only days after the couple reported to have broken up...again.

The musician, 31, attended the premiere of her new film Marley & Me in LA last night.

And he admitted to the press that he was happy to be by her side.

‘I’m here to support someone that I love,’ he told Access Hollywood.

But when quizzed about his feelings towards her, he changed the subject.

‘Stop it,’ he said with a smile. ‘I’m trying to be cool.’

John rekindled his relationship with Jennifer, 39, in October, after a brief split.
